The Time Paradox: The New Psychology of Time with Philip Zimbardo
Philip Zimbardo was my psychology professor at Stanford University, and he was consistently regarded as the most popular professor at Stanford for his brilliant insights into the human mind and his engaging teaching style. So you know I am excited about this session.
The most important secret for you to take your time management to the next level might just be your understanding how you THINK about time. Just reading Zimbardo’s book alone was a profound revelation for me, just think how transformative this insightful conversation will be.

Philip Zimbardo’s brand new book “The Time Paradox: The New Psychology of Time That Will Change Your Life” is the result of two decades of research. In the teleseminar, Zimbardo provides compelling insights into how we use the irreplaceable resource of time for success, better health and greater fulfillment. This will be one of the first opportunities to hear the brilliant insights from the book directly from the author.
A legendary thought leader in the field of social psychology, Zimbardo is widely known for the Stanford Prisoner Study and books such as “The Lucifer Effect.”

Hi Bill,
I am really astounded by the quality of your calls! Awesome. I took the tests…I am very future-oriented, with a tendancy to enjoy the positive present. Not so bad! And I think it reflects my leadership, my action-oriented and grateful personality!
Thanks
Denis

I thought the idea of “time perspectives” was fascinating. I have a favorite travel companion, and now I understand why we have different “travel styles”. I like to plan our trip and have a plan for the day ahead (future orientation). My companion likes to wake up each day and go with the flow (present hedonism).
So how I’m going to use this knowledge, let’s say on our next trip:
- understand why we’re approaching our trip differently
- appreciate and learn from (rather than be frustrated by) my travel friend’s perspective - perhaps I’ll enjoy the moment more

I had an “aha” moment listening to this, related to the fact that I work a lot of hours (too many) everyday.
Zimbardo pointed out that many of us entrepreneurs have a “future orientation”, which is generally good - but it means that we *sacrifice* the joys of the present moment.
I’m making a resolution to consciously enjoy more of the activities I’m doing every day.
Otherwise, I’m waiting to be fulfiled in the future, which doesn’t make any sense!

Hi Bill,
I really got how much of my working behavior is driven by my time orientation. Including the things I’m doing that are causing me stress.
It’s how I approach time, not so much what others are doing.
Thanks for sharing these insights with us!

1. make time for family and friends
2. have more compassion for myself and others: considering our different time perspectives- past, present future
